Im tired of bottoming out the suspension every time I hit a bump when I have 4 people in the truck and I'm reluctant to do the TSB for fear of having a harsh ride, so I'm thinking of cutting about 2" off the rear bump stop for a little extra travel.

Anyone done this yet? Only down side I can think of, is that it could wear the springs out a little faster.

Have the TSB performed. The ride is still good and no more bottoming out! After I had it done, It made the truck much better for me and I rarely haul anything. If you cut the bump stops, your problem will eventually return with increased frequency, due to the spring cycling closer to a negative arch. My $.02

I wouldn't cut the stops. I haven't found it to be very harsh when I hit my bump stops. They seem pretty soft, but if you take that out and bottom out, you could do some damage to your frame.

what about supersprings or activesuspension?

I cut 1 1/2 inches off mine. this prevents the shock from bottoming out. It made a huge difference as when it did bottom out, the overload spring would actually make contact before bottoming out and when it bottomed it wasnt near as harsh. I have the leaf spring TSB but sure miss the old springs on the washboard roads I drive to work every morning.

I wonder if I could keep the stock springs if I got the TSB done. Im sure Toyota will want to keep them huh?

My main concern is, i just like the smooth ride. My last vehicle was a Dakota RT that i installed a hotchkis suspension on. It would out corner a BMW, but rode like a hard tail Harley. I just don't want to go down that road again.

How much lift does a double cab gain with the TSB? 1"?

I doubt it;)
Doubt it all you want, people laugh at the dakota's who show up at the autocross tracks. But they seem to stop laughing when they get their asses handed to them by a 4000lb truck.

Back to the topic, does it mater how many miles are on the truck to get the TSB? I dont think it would, since its a Toyota F-up.

I took my stock bumps completely off when my truck was new so I could get more articulation, but they've since been replaced with Timbren's. If you're on a budget they are the way to go. I'd say lightracing jounce shocks are overkill unless you really thrash your truck and like to jump a lot.
