ok so i searched my ass off on four forums and ive got a quick question about dash kits. With the scosche double din kit the head unit its mounted horizontal so the front of a fix face unit ie. the D3 sits recessed at the bottom.

Now my question is have anyone come across a dash kit that mounts a fixed face head unit flush at the top and bottom and is it a descent unit?

that's going to be tough to fit, mainly because of how bulky the double din units are. and once (if) you get it to fit, you're not going to like it aside from the aesthetics of it - you're going to have some insane glare, looking at your screen at that angle. I'm not too familiar with the D3, but with the W205 that I have the face flips down to put in a CD, and if I have it's set at too much of any angle, either leaning too far forward, or too far backwards, it wont open. Hope this helps...

I used to have a D1 and you could adjust the tilt on the screen to make it level...I never had any issues on that unit with glare and stuff, but it seems to be a problem I've recently read about with the D3...who knows

thats odd that they changed the design so much...that was what was great about the D1 the whole plate slid down for a navigation DVD in the bottom slot and a CD in the top slot...

O well mine bit the dust just shy of 2 years...stupid touch screen stopped working and pioneer wanted like $250 to attempt to repair...I'm gonna work out the details on a carputer set up now...

i think after the D1 they came out with the Z1 which has two disc slots and then redesigned for the D2 with had one slot as well. i would go with the Z2 but you cant select the colour the buttons are. kind of a shallow thing to stop me but i like having everything match.
edit: no i was wrong the D3 was when they did the design change to one disc slot.
