Anyone? Anyone have instructions (@Endzone3 maybe) from manual on how to remove parts of the dashboard, instrument panels?

I have seen videos where you pry on the speakers and pull outwards. There is a black trim below top of the dash, is that normal pry also all the way across? Thx.

Sorry this is no assistance.. but I believe if you fabricate your own section it will be fine to mount there as there is nothing to my knowledge behind it. I'll need to replace odometer bulb soon so if I get around to it in a week or two will let you know as soon as I do it. There's photos on here somewhere of the removal process.

Nice. Now this looks familiar. I think this is where I saw that speaker pull. Wish I had remembered to search on 2000. I will keep some LEDs ready so when I open dash I will swap them out though they are still working.

Here is a file from manual I saved from somewhere long back...

Bummer. Thanks for the heads up. In the models later than mine 2002+ the display is digital there or later on added navi or display there. So I thought it must be space there but I guess only enough space for built in ones.

Yup I was thinking of putting in a tablet or a/v screen that is about that size. I just went and measured it while I was working on car. Highest pt is about 3.5 in and that section part is 13 in. That narrows it down to a small wide screen or group of gadgets like voltage display or similar. Or an old smartphone insert.

A vacuum formed piece would work great in that location and with most slim electronics. If I didn't like my display center I would have put a GPS there. Or more outlandishly, a center speaker. But, anything going in a prominent location like that will require some nice finish work to look decent, going to be tricky.

I would put a voltage gauge and probably oil pressure/temp. Transmission temp/AF/Ratio.. oh god the possibilities are endless.

But I can't fabricate so I'm SOL :)

Just did this on mine a couple of weeks ago. Piece of cake. The only problem I had was that the replacement lamps that I got from local auto parts store are slightly larger diameter that the original and almost impossible to get to work with the original lamp holders. Fortunately, one of the guys thought the bulbs looked familiar to ones he had in one of his personal vehicles and pulled a NAPA #2723, which is a tad bit longer but same in diameter. It seems the original bulbs are 14 Volt and the 2723 are 12 Volt, so the 2723's are a bit brighter. So far I haven't had any problems with them.
