Wanted to get some opinions. I've searched the web and not come up with much. So I've owned my V6 Venza for a about a year. Has some miles, but maintenance up to date. I was getting 18-19mpg consistently around town. My daily commute and driving routine is pretty steady. I get 26-27 on long trips. For the last few months, my in town gas mileage has decreased and I can't figure out why. I'm getting around 16mpg now. I know it's been winter, but I park in a garage and don't have to do much for a warm-up. No lights on the dash, power still seems normal and no rough idling or anything. I've tried different octanes and fuel from different stations, my mileage still seems to be suffering.

Change air filter.
If over 100k miles, change spark plugs.
Use a better oil/filter for cooler weather.

Check cold tire PSI.
Get a all-wheel alignment
Exchange the ATF. If AWD, change out the gear oils.

Change the the thermostat.

Use a few different bottle of FI cleaner.

Air filter is new.
Plugs are in good shape.
I run appropriate weight oil, full synthetic, original Toyota filters
I could stand to check the tire pressure, I may be relying on the TPMS too much
Could stand to check alignment, was going to be doing suspension work soon and was waiting for that
What do you suggest for ATF? (it's FWD).
I have used various FI cleaners and additives to help with build up when I do my oil changes.

Thanks for your response :)

Use use a gas cleaner and fuel injector cleaner? Also use something to get water out of your gas tank like iso heat injector cleaner. I put a lot of miles on my venza and every couple of fill ups or 1k miles I use sea foam in my gas tank religiously...as I do in all my vehicles. The key is...you have to use this stuff more than once a year right? I treat additives like multivitamins...they are not a one and done solution 😁
