I am sure this has been covered in the past, but I used the search feature and could not find the answer I am looking for. What oil is recommended for use in the front and rear differentials?? Planning on changing them soon and would like to know what everyone else is using.

Straight 90, or 80W90 if you're consistantly below 0* F.

Best product for the differentials is probably Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90. Valvoline Synpower GL-5 75W-90 is also very good - that's what I'm using now for the diffs and transfer case (Red Line MT-90 GL-4 in the tranny).

The GL-5s thicken up a lot in the cold which could cause them to not protect as well. This post has info on cold weather performance: http://www.yotatech.com/f116/amsoil-severe-gear-203162/#post51354583

Thanks for your answer as that was more what I was looking for than the actual viscosities. I am leaning towards synthetics, but was just wondering what preferences other people have. I will always take other people's opinions and experiences into account when looking for lubricants to use for a specific application. Thanks again.
