But this may be dealer specific. And year specific, mine is 2012 TCH. I got new license plate holder and replaced the ones from dealer.
Don't want to be advertising for them plus I wanted better looking ones.
Both plates are held by only 2 top screws only. Bummer. Leaving unsightly empty plate holes at bottom.
I just glue the caps for the screws to empty holes. And the way they drill the holes, they just screw
thru plastic bumper. Is this how everyone's is ?

Anyway I got to clean behind the plates.

How is your plates mounted and have you replace the holder ?

I also took off the dealer supplied plate holders and replaced them with black coated metal frames. I was quite suprised when I removed the front plate holder and found that they had just "screwed" right through the front bumper. For a car that costs north of $26K it seems a bit out-of-place.

The back plate holder also uses the top two slots. However in this case I found threaded holes in the frame of the truck lid. My dealer used black plastic screws. I plan to replace these with metal screws as plastic with time becomes brittle and at some point can crack and away goes the rear license plate. I also put some wide adhesive backed weatherstriping foam behind both front and rear plates.

I have the 2012 TCH LE purchased in late February of this year.
