Do any of you guys down in the southwest Atlanta metro area know if the parts dept at the Newnan dealership still gives ToyotaNation members a 25% discount on parts? I bought gallon of coolant there last year and got the discount just by mentioning to the cashier lady that I'm a member of TN. I guess I could call down there or just wait until I'm that area again, I'm in no big hurry to get the serpentine belt I plan to install when the time comes to replace the original, which has approximately 64K miles a mechanic I know quite well says that today's serpentine belts last longer than the ones the factory installed in 2003's like mine. I just want to have one in hand when the time comes to replace it and there's no Toyota dealer within 40 or 50 miles of here. I want a genuine Toyota belt so I'm not gonna buy one or order it from a local parts store unless I need it right away, and my '03 Corolla only has approximately 64K miles on it.

Do not buy the OEM belt. It's a Bando belt (they make high quality OEM belts) but it crap.

An aftermarket belt is the better option and will eliminate the start up squeal.

Most people here recommend the goodyear gator back.

Thanks guys, as soon as I hit the button to post my original question I realized that I could have easily answered my question by simply calling the dealership. Excuse me while I beat my head on this brick to punish it for not thinking of that simple solution. Now I'm gonna have to ask another probably dumb question, do any of you agree or disagree with hardtopte72's opinion regarding Toyota brand serpentine belts? If any of you agree I won't wait until I have another reason to drive down to Newnan, I can buy another brand of the belt somewhere reasonably close to my own area even if I have to drive to another town to pick it up. I've been getting 37 mpg hiway even on the #$%^& 10% ethanol gas I'm forced to buy by some tree-hugging bozos in DC, so I can afford to burn a few coins worth of the stuff by driving to a nearby town if that's necessary to get the belt.
