Is it really necessary to have to wire everything from the dome light itself? I found that fuse #25 in the instrument panel fuse box is the fuse for the dome light. Is it possible to run it somehow from the fuse box from the Dome fuse? If so, how would I go about doing it?

I havent tried it out, but I would imagine the dome light fuse would have constant power from the ACC position to the ON position, so it wouldnt go on and off with the dome light. you can try it out if you want though.

Thanks for the input. I will just do a test on it and if I have to run it through the dome light I will. I wish we had courtesy lights like the Gen 6.

The 6 inch LED strips came in the mail today, so I went ahead and installed them in the footwells. I attached the main line to the dome light through the headliner down the c-pillars and down the side near the fuse box. I then used t-taps to connect the rest of the led strips in each footwell.

Where I ran the t-tapped lines from the main line:

-1 T-tapped line through the instrument panel and hvac to the passenger side footwell
-1 T-tapped line from the main line from the intrument panel underneath the door sills and pushed it under the carpet through the OEM hole underneath the driver seat.
-1-T-tapped line from the front passenger footwell through the passenger side door sill and pushed it under the carpet through the OEM hole.

Where I placed the LED strips:

***I will update this section with pics.

The cool thing is as the dome light is dimming to turn off, the LED strips do it as well in unison, which gives it a very OEM feel :) The other nice thing is the LED strips hide very well, so they don't show at certain angles like the CCFL's do and take up much less space.

I purchased the 6 inch LED strips here:

My digital camera sucks at night shots so here are a few with the "macro" and "nightshot" settings:

Macro: (Too bright in comparison to how it really looks)

Auto w/o flash: (Closer to what it looks like in person)

Puddle lights that are installed cleanly are pretty cool from the videos I have seen. I would really like to see a set in person to see how much attention it attracts. I just want to make sure that it doesn't simulate something similar to underbodies.
