how does one find out what size bulb they have to buy, is it written on the bulb or would you have to compare it to another bulb to see?

I see five main 194 bulbs in my gen 4 gauge cluseter that light up the needles and backlight for all the numbering, but my question is, how do you change the color of the odometer display? mine is an ugly green but I do not see the bulb for it. I see four bulbs below for the brake, door open etc, but I do not know which bulb is for the lcd. anybody?

if you replace each 194 back there, it will change your LCD and odometer. i just dont know which 194's are for which speicifaclly, so just change them all

yeah, all the bubls came out of the bases really easily for me except the ones i noted which are non-removable

I'm curious, did you have ne pics during the "taking off" of the guage cluster?

It looks so complicated and I don't want to bend break or mess-up that cluster. Lol

Yeah and please post pictures of the bulbs locations on the removed cluster and the easiest way to access them. Also post if there is a trick to changing the PRNDL2 indicator on the dash.

Ok i got the controls off, i cant seem to remove it from the console. I removed the 4 screws, but it seems to stay in place. It will wiggle but it wont come off, do i have to disconnect something from the back? Are there any pictures of removing the controls to put the lights there?

Yeah I did this a few weeks ago. Your turn signals are #74 bulbs (as are your PRND2L and idiot lights).

The trick is that the bulbs for the turn signals are clear. Two round plastic discs right under the arrow are what makes it light up green. Replacing these with colored plastic cut to size would be one way of going. I have also heard of people using a colored bulb and cutting out regular old white printer paper into circles and using those. I wanted to keep them black normally and red when they light up so I replaced the two #74's with red ones, then cut out circles of old window tint and stacked two layers in place of the old plastic discs.
