while looking at cardomain i discovered this camry:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/250047

it says he's using an eaton m112 supercharger with a custom intake manifold. i looked up how much these superchargers go for and i could afford one (a TRD supercharger will run me 3000 and thats if i could find one). now here is my question, how much would a intake manifold cost to make? would it be so much that i should just save my pennies for a TRD?

ah....gabes red knight reborn eh? you can pm him here- trd4life, but long story short, unless you have the resources (know people to do custom fabrications to both make the adaptor or re-fabricate the intake manifold and the idler assembly to fit) and a built engine....no. no you can't. that is a BIG supercharger.

what about a supercharger of comparable performance to the TRD?

i forget the equivilent charger(think its an eaton as well) code but the TRD one is a step under the ones used on the 3800 series GM motors(monte carlo SS, impalla SS, grand prix, ect).

if your willing to put that much work in a custom supercharger setup then a turbo setup is the way to go man. the TRD charger is popular because its SO easy to install and use for a modest boost in hp. because it has been done quite a few times the turbo would the the better way to go.

we'll see. i just wanted to know if this would actually be cheaper than a TRD setup.

same could likely be said for the TRD charger for the 5vz(taco motor) or 1zz.

if you want ease of install and whine...TRD would likely be your best option, other then that i would rule out a roots style blower. but theres also the centrifugal superchargers which would be better and most likely easier to rig up then a custom roots style. plus you could intercool it.

There is an Eaton M90 for the 1MZ in the works, possibly for sales on request. Stay tuned.

just like a turbo build, you can always use a "generic" supercharger and do the machine work to mate it to any car ... you never are required to use a pre-assembled setup/kit

however, id skip any twinscrew/roots types and go straight to centrifugal - jmo
