Greetings fellow Toyota modders,

Tonight I bring you documentation of built-in garage door openers. This first appeared in GM models in the mid-90's, and I'm not sure if any other manufacturer has offered it extensively (I think Subaru does now... whatever). In any case, I put it in my Camry.

Note that this is a fairly intensive installation, but the end result is pretty convenient, especially for those of us dealing with multiple garage doors- I have three. As such, it's also documented extensively.

Here's the link, and I'd appreciate any feedback either here or on my site.

Thanks!

Jon

Great job! That's been a project on my list for quite some time.

Home link was offered on many vehicles, BTW. My Expedition has it and our old Chrysler van did too.

What I did was get sunvisors from a 1999 ES300. The visors also came with three programmable buttons and leds built right into the visor so all I had to do was run power to the visor up the A pillar. The color match was perfect and I also got to replace my broken camry visors. I got them off ebay for $45.
