Is yours 4-cyl with the A140e transmission? If yes then there are two chambers. Recently a member had the diff chamber ran dry and ruined the differential.

A breaker bar from the top side or an extendable ratchet may help provide better torque on the fill plug. The standard ~7" ratchet sometimes doesn't cut it especially if the plug's been on there for a while. And don't go overboard tightening these. And make sure the socket is fully seated to prevent rounding the plug out.

Check also many YT videos. The newer U-series are designed correctly, in that they don't use a silly separate diff chamber like the older, more bulletproof A-series.

BTW, for transmissions with dipsticks, I'd suggest checking the ATF level on a few occasions before draining to make sure it's in the HOT range. Then measure what you drained out to put approx the same amount back in to quickly get the level into the ballpark.

The process is similar to the A140e otherwise.
