Hi

It's AWD ....and does it with cold and warm engine...with cold engine it's louder...Have to try that brake and gas thing...it goes away when you accelarate from stop...when you coast to the stop it's not there ...as soon you stop with the brake on it's pretty loud....touch gas..goes away...strange.
On my way to dealership to check this ...and chirping noises coming from mirror areas on both sides ...otherways truck is perfect..drove home last night from work , almost 10" of snow ..stock tires ...never felt safer ...awesome ....if i get those little annoying things out of the way I'll be a happy man lol.

Hi....
Well....I guess that drone noise has to do with freezing temps we had last few days.....today it's nice -2C and drone noise wasn't as bad ..still there ...but not as annoying as earlier with temp at -27C...dealer said it sounds "normal" and bring it in when gets colder....I don't think engine temp has anything to do with it...when was freezing out and engine was warm it was still doing it...I guess HL doesn't like canadian winters lol

Wild guess here but it might have something to do with how the injectors work in cold weather

SFI System (EG-63)
The L-type SFI (Sequential Multiport Fuel Injection) system directly detects the intake air mass using a hot-wire type mass air flow meter.
An independent injection system (in which fuel is injected once into each intake port for each two revolutions of the crankshaft) is used.

There are two (synchronous and non-synchronous) injections:
1. Synchronous injection, in which injection always occurs at the same timing relative to the firing order.

2. The non-synchronous injection in which injection is effected regardless of the crankshaft angle.

Furthermore, to protect the engine and achieve lower fuel consumption, the system uses a fuel cutoff in which the injection of fuel may be stopped temporarily in accordance with the driving conditions.

This system performs group injection when the engine coolant temperature is
extremely low and the engine is operating at a low speed.

Another guess here too. If the engine is on fast idle (1100 RPM in gear) I notice a "drone" while at at stop. Once idling normal RPM, everything sounds good.

Hi
Just when I got over the idea that I would have to live with the drone in freezing temps I got call back from service department...apparently I'll be getting new muffler next week .....they think that the cause of the drone is a valve ( ?? )inside it that is getting stuck ....and I thought that was a closed case... I guess cold weather wasn't it :D...
Hats off to Toyota customer service...in my books they are number 1 .

I'll let you know next week if that helped or not .
