The exhaust is badged by TRD, advertised to add 3-4 ballpark HP. From what I know of it, it is an "axle-back" bolt-on, which baically means just a new muffler. I've heard that the stock one is pretty neat, it has a valve in it that keeps it quiet at idle, then opens up around 3k rpm.

The exhaust is made by borla. Doesn't sound that bad, but it didn't really sound that good either. A little too raspy.

Depands on the dealer in Oregon. Two dealers I drove alone-the dealer I bought (Silver, five-speed) one from did. Been driving hard for a week now and am more than happy with it. Good power, handles the curvey roads here great, good MPG (For brand new-AC on-& hard driving). Makes me less sad that my bike is down.
Seats are great! -I'm 6'0 185 lbs. very comfortable.

i dont understand why people complain about about the suspension, for someone coming from a sedan the tc handles very well and feels pretty planted to the ground, im sure if you upgrade the suspension that thing would stick like glue:woot:

I would take a new Tc over a 14 year old Camry any day.:
I would too if they were both stock. Mine isn't. Plus I was talking on a fun to drive basis. DOn't get me wrong, I liked the tC but my own 14 year old grocery getter is a lot more fun to drive.

I think the point of the TC is to give a certain level of "performance" while remaining within most everybody's financial grasp. Under that premise, the TC delivers and then some. How does it compare to cars within the same price range??? Extremely well. How does it compare to a sport car that's $8-12K more? The same way a $30K car compares to $50K sport cars....apples and oranges...Obviously an $18K car will always have room for improvements...but as a platform to improve upon, I think the TC offers more than anything else in the market in that price range......

Meh, I "just" came back form a test drive. The salesman let me and my dad take it out on our own. My dad complained that it seemed to top out in 1st, but from reading this, I think he kept hittin the rev limiter and he's also a speed freak. I on the other hand loved it, It fit like a glove. I don't expect it to be a WRX/Evo/Insert any other car killer out the gates.. thats why it costs what it does. I plan on getting one as soon as possible. Black. 5 Speed. :D

a svt focus and an srt-4 are both better cars than the tC and both do cost only a "couple" k more. But think of this, a 16-19 yr old kid with an srt4 is gonna pay a retarted amount of money for insurance. Same with the svt focus. Now take a "toyota made" scion tC and wow. Its like having an escort or the like. Some people dont think only of the initial price for the car. Being able to afford to have the car on the road is another important factor.

I think the interior is a bit better than the SRT-4 and SVT Focus, sure their engines and perfomance are better, but why? Because they come "souped-up" with turbocharger, slash this slash that.
Give Scion a chance to actually come up with something similar.
Everyone has kept bringing up the SVT and SRT-4, why not be realistic and talk about the plain old Neon and Focus:rolleyes:

Can you say insurance? I couldnot believe it when I called my agent for insurance & it only went up by $40 a year! I sold a Suburu wagon, 1999 & was expecting much higher rates..I was more than happy...A number of years ago (1985) I almost bought a new 944, that is until I was told my insurance would double-And twice the deductable! Yes, other items need to be factored into the cost.
My 1993 T-100:(Bought new) It had a recall, Toy. Not only fixed those items but almost did a total rebuild @ the same time. Toy.'s Rule!!--Customer for life!!

I think it'd be more worth it to get a Mazda MSP (Mazda Speed Protege) Its around 16k and it's turboed.

Also my friend told me yesterday that lots of insurance company's think its a normal protege so the insureance is the same as a regular protege which i think is cool.

But the tc is good to. You just gotta wait for the s/c.

I don't like the design of the car. Back is ugly, front is so-so. Engine is good, nonetheless. But if I had that car, the kit has to go and make my own custom made kit for it to please my taste.
