So I know a little about E85 like that it is a mixture and you get less gas millage, but is it safe to run in our trucks? I understand that some of the seals in certain cars will deteriorate and the e85 web site doesn't say anything about Toyota that I could find.

Depending on how much cheaper it might be just about the same or better priced. E85 also burns cleaner and has a higher octane rating, straight ethanol is something like 115 Octane, so with the regular gas its about 95+ octane. But no, you can't it has to be equipped to run on E85 because of fuel maps, ignition timing, etc.

I hate gas companies and supporting an alternative fuel, although only 15% makes me feel a little better and it burns just a little cleaner. More octane is interesting too, although I think I remember learning the 22re doesn't really like high octane. I wish I had a diesel so I could convert it to bio diesel. I want to go to Iceland and get me a Hilux!

sidney has excellent information on how to import a diesel. I'm looking at importing a 99 2.4l double cab diesel. They claim it gets 41 mpg.. sounds like a killer investment to me

not as cheap as you'd like.. but the diesel motors are famous for incredible durability. You can get whole trucks for 4k to 5k and swap for 2k to 3k.. depends on the price of the motor. Check out toyotadiesel.com.. enough info for any question there!
