Are there seperate buttons for the two doors, or do they both pop open on one button? That would drive me nuts.
Shaved. If you've got it, flaunt it!
I hooked the doors up to my keyless entry module that came with my Gaylords lid. It is 4 channel. The lock button opens the drivers door and the unluck button opens the passenger door. The trunk button opens the lid and the 4th button turns on the dome light inside the truck and under the cap.

I think the shaved look is great but feer that day when the battery dies or worse yet the brain for the door popper goes and your locked out.... and you know its gonna happen someday....
I still think its looks hot.... just not worth the down side
As far as a fail safe entry I have ran an extra set of wires to the bed under the cap. I have an extra wire for each door. If my battery dies I will be able to apply power at this point to get into my truck. I have a spare key for my lid in my wallet in case I lock my keys in the truck. I am not a newbie when it comes to electric doors, I have thought of everything before doing this except I can't decide if I want to remove my handles.
I used GM power door lock motors from an old Chevy Suburban. I have shaved a few of my other cars and trucks using these motors and they are pretty durable. So the probability of both motors burning up at the same time is very slim. One of my friends still has an old truck I shaved using these motors back in 94 and they still work. He has never had a problem with the motors. He has had a few dead batteries though.
