I have a 1989 Supra non turbo 5 speed. Problem started occuring off and on at first with starter not working. It finally did it and would not work at all last week. I had to push start it.
I was able to figure out using the factory manual that the starter/solenoid, relay, clutch swith and fusable link were ok. However it appeared that I had a bad ground on the starter relay by the passenger pillar. I added a new ground on this wire and everthing is fine starting wise.
I have noticed that I also do not have any heater blower and the fog lights aren't working. I know the heater relay is located by the starter relay under the passenger pillar.
Anyone had any issues like this? I'm assuming I have a bad ground somewhere? The ground under the passenger pillar is actually part of the bracket that holds the relays.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
