In my '99 Corolla CE, the e-brake doesn't hold that hard. Currently, I just use left-foot braking but I want my e-brake!!! What can I do to tighten it up?

I tried the recommendation another user was given in the Camry forum which was to put the car in reverse, accelerate, and hit the brakes hard. I did. Of course, I was doing 5 or less MPH. Anyways, I didn't notice a big diff. I guess it may hold a BIT harder but I pulled the e-brake ALL the way up.

Any help out there for me???

Yes, yes.. I have drums.. NO discs for me:(

Oh yeah, any bolt-on cold or ram-air intakes?

it has an adjustment down in there you might have to take off a few dash panels to get to it but it will be a screw with nuts on it. just tighten up the nuts.

Might be worned out brakepads... the handbrake is self adjusting
Unless the cable has stretched, then you adjust it from the handle, but if its stretched, it might snap soon.

What do you think the replacement cable will cost me? Who should I trust with labor? I love Toyota but the dealership mechanics.. not so much.. at 90 bucks an hour, I don't think so baby... How hard is it to replace?
