Engine Build Question

989 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Wraith
I needed to know, is making a 5sge simple as putting a 3sge head on the 5sfe block? As in no mods needed what so ever?

I have the chance to buy a 3sgte cylinder head, but can I simply bolt it onto my 5sfe and get a better breathing engine and much better power, or much more has to be done then that.

Keep in mind my 5sfe is a 1993 so the water chanels are correct for the 3sge/3sgte head, but is it just plug and play so to speak?

short answer - yes.

Full explanation - you're gonna have so much custom work to do to get the hybrid put together.

Search for Justin's (Wraith) threads to see what's involved (some are in the hardcore forum).
You could more easily get your engine to breathe by putting a performance cam in. It would do a lot more than changing the heads, and probably for less.
