Engine clunking sound

Has anyone noticed a clunking sound when turning the engine off? Hard to explain, almost sounds like a loose motor mount. It happens about a second after the key is turned off.

if it does it everytime you turn off the engine, you should take it to the dealership for them to check it out
Probably bad gas, you should take it back to the stealership for a "check-up"
we just discussed this about mine. You have a 6-speed im guessing? It will only do it if you dont have the clutch pressed in and you turn it off. Press the clutch in when you shut it off and it wont do it. Dealer told me and another that it had to do with the tranny being engaged or something. When you have the clutch in you are releasing the engine from the tranny? And if you have the clutch out, you hare hearing the tranny coming to a stop also. Something to that effect.

Actually it's an automatic, I think it may be an exhaust mount or something. I got a flowmaster 50 on it. I need to get up under it and have the wife shut it off. It happens just as the engine stops turning. Sounds like something is loose and moving? I will figure it out I guess. Thought it may be something common. Thanx for the replies. If/when I figure it out I will post it. Thanx

P.S. I am computer stupid! How do I post a picture? I do have a digital camera.
hmmm.... strange then. The sound you describe is the exact same. When the engine just stops I hear... clunk clunk.

picture wise. Once the pictures are on your computer from the camera, you can go to somewhere like photobucket or imageshack.us and host them. You upload them to their site and then past the img url.
wonder if its the intake rattle many experiance...toyota has no fix for it...they say its normal
