you can use anything...i was using some bbq grill degreaser on a towel the other day and it works just as well...but i was only cleaning some of the metal in the engine compartment...not the actual engine...
idk man, I personally would be afraid of water getting into and shorting out the alternator and the distributor at least (esp on the 3 and 5SFE's where the coil is inside the cap, over time they have enough issues with condensation).acecl22 said:no, i read in another thread that you dont have to cover anything
thats nothing... i saw a guy once sticking the hose up his tail pipe... like all the way! and he went at it for like a minute straight. i saw him doing it while sitting at a stoplight, so i dont know what happened to him. smart.a94autoCamry said:^ ARGH MAN you just reminded me of some guy at the pressure-wash place while me and rich (brungold) were washing our engine bays....this guy had a v6 gen3 camry and he just sprayed the fuk outta everything in his engine bay, didnt cover up anything at all.... so then we proceed to wash our engine bays...and then i look over to where he was at, and he was gone....so i guess he had no problems turning on his car...lol
guy was nutz but still....i would cover up the battery and alternator at least...
