Hi everyone,

I'm a first time Taco owner. 2008 double cab. So far I'm really liking it alot. Today I decided to install 2 12volt ac adapters in the rear so that my kids can plug in their DVD players on long rides. I disconnected the battery and did the installation. Plugged the battery back in tested everything. Looks like the 12 volt ac adapters work fine. Went to go start the engine and its reving up in the 1500 rpm range.

YIKES! I've looked at all the fuses to see if I blew something but they all look fine. I havent shorted anything. What could this be? I drove it around the block and it still revs high. When I push in the clutch the rpms are bouncing all over the place until I get to lower speeds then stays at idle at around 1500 rpm.

Anyone have any insight before I take it to the dealer on Monday?

Well drove the truck twice today for about a total of 3 miles. The RPMs are coming down but they are not at the normal idle yet. It still idling at about 900-1000 RPM.

I will be driving it 60 miles tomorrow. Hopefully it will go back to normal.

when you disconnected the batteries, it reset the ECU and erased everything it "learned". Your truck probably idled like it does now the day you got it but you just dont remember. Every time I disconnect and reconnect the battery it behaves differently but it means nothing. Wish I could watch dvds in my truck tho
