I have a 2016 Corolla LE. The other day on an icy flat road with fresh snow on a neighborhood street from a stop sign the car would go nowhere. I turned the traction control off thinking I could burn through the ice to get moving. The engine would not go over 2000 rpm with the pedal to the floor. Turned it back on and still 2000 rpm max. I had to walk back home and get a snow shovel, clear a path so I could lay down some salt. Once I got moving again I was OK. Is there a control feature that limits rpm on slippery roads?

With TC on I could see that scenario but with it off I would think that it would spin more. How about some winter tires? Those are not only much safer but they allow the nannies to work much better.

A single press only turns off the traction control, and it only stays off until you it thinks you get moving again. You need to press and hold for 3 seconds or more to kill the traction control and stability control, and it will stay off until the car is turned off or the button is pressed again.

Annoying, thank a lawyer. They should put these systems on toggle switches.
