The mechanic left the splash shield off my 93 tercel,. I s it necessary? or will the belts slip if it goes thru water.

There's a good chance your belts will slip if its raining. Go back to your mechanic and tell him to put it back on.

the belts will slip, when i took mine off i never put them back on and they always did in big puddles
