I haven't had the chance to take my HL to the dealer to address this issue, but I was wondering if anyone was aware of what the problem might be. My Enhanced VSC/TRAC system light is on constantly. The manual states that that the system light will blink when the system is engaged, but not supposed to stay on constantly. This happened a few weeks ago when I was going through a toll booth and while I was digging for change, my right leg pushed down on the brakes (which I have done at several toll booths in the past). There does not appear to be any change in the driveability of the HL, but I suspect the VSC/TRAC system will not work until I get this fixed. I was towing a 4000lb (estimated) trailer at the time, and continued towing it an extra 2200km with this problem with nothing out of the ordinary happening.

Just curious if anyone has experienced this.

You can manually engage the 4WD system by pressing on the brakes hard as you describe but it return to normal as soon as you reach 10-15 mph. Just staying on as you describe must be a fault condition

I finally brought this to the dealership to get addressed. It was a low priority item, so I just waited until I needed other stuff done...in this case, an oil change.

In any case, this is what was written on my work order:

Condition: Check for vehicle skid control light is on
Cause: Found Code C1290 - Abnormal zero point of steering angle sensor.
Correction: Checked all system and all is good. Code will come on when alignment done and battery not disconnected or a steering component replaced. No fault found - light is off.

So, I have never had an alignment done or steering service work. The only aftermarket electrical work that I have had done was the installation of a Prodigy P3 brake controller, which was installed by a local hitch shop. Perhaps that could have done something. I will monitor this to see if the light comes back on, but I removed my brake controller for the winter, so I will likely have to wait until camping season to see if anything happens.
