excessive oil consumption

I have been waiting since April 2016 for parts. I keep calling the Toyota Care number every month as they advised me to and still VIN number has not showed up yet. The Canada wide repairs are being completed 500 cars at a time so I am suspecting it may still be a while.

1 quart every 435 miles is plenty of consumption. What are you topping it off with?
Important not to run out of oil while waiting for parts. Top it off frequently and keep it full.

I find myself topping off almost every 3 days or so...about 1 quart every 500kms. At first I was using Quaker State High Mileage 5w30 (5L jug for about $30) but then that gets too expensive. So I just get a 5L jug of Motomaster 5w30 oil for $14 and I use that.I am considering moving to 5w40 or 0w40.
On the plus side, don't have to change oil, just the filter ever 15k kms!

Did part 2 this Thursday Dec 8 left my car that day as they had parts still waiting to get it back though they told me Fri since my mechanic left for Toyota training. Also getting dash replaced.
