Why are there three threads on this?

but now that you have introduced the VR6 into the mix, it wins. Hands down. :jerkit:

Have you ever heard a VR6 blast by you in real life?

There ain't ANYTHING that sounds like it, I refuse to accept you saying that it doesn't stand out. ;)

2GR hands down for me. I think the G35 sound is getting played out. The 2GR is different and it sounds badass. I wonder what its like when its passing you at WOT  .

hah, I haven't. But I've been around my fair share of fire-breathing 7M-GTE MKIII Supras ;)

back on topic: The VQ is kind of getting played out, but still a good sounding motor nonetheless.

VQ35 in the G35 sounds fabulous. Very deep and mean. 2nd best goes to VR6.

I have to say VR6 because in real life hearing them is like nothing else. I rate 2GR second, then VQ third. Not that i don't like the VQ but i hear it everywhere (my dad has a g sedan).

I would have to say the VQ35 is one of the best sounding cars made these days. VR6's do sound quite awesome as well, very awesome indeed. I like the 2GR of course as well. Honestly almost every 6 cylinder engine creates a wonderful tune.

But the winner is definately the Supra. Where is the love for the Supra? Nobody has mentioned it yet. Definately my favorite sounding car of all time. EDIT: Someone DID mention the 2JZ...

Here is a short clip of my 1MZFE. The clip doesn't do it justice, since the car's not even moving. Also remember it is not a full exhaust, just a GReddy Evo2 muffler with some barely modded piping.

The 1MZ-FE and 3VZ-FE are great sounding engines - right from startup, idle and through to redline.

I don't think it's fair to declare the 2JZ an absolute winner with the exhaust note - Toyota inline-sixes of years past such as the 5M-GE sound very much similar. That wail at the mid RPM range...

Oh yes, the 1MZ is definitely one great sounding engine. I love the sound it makes when it's revved, so smooth, silky, and refined.
