Street racing and drifting. Like pornography, we all know street racing or drifting when we see it. However, over time, the TN staff encounter members attempting to skirt around the no street racing/no drifting on public streets rule to push that gray area so that people may question whether a particular video was street racing or not. Let's be clear, violation of the no street racing rule includes but is not limited to: Participation in or promoting street racing, performance exhibition, or any form of illegal or dangerous activity upon public roads; this includes racing of any form, speeding, top speeds driven, time trials (0-60, 1/8, or 1/4 mile runs), burnouts, drifting, aggressive or reckless driving, road rage, driving under the influence, etc.

We’ve seen it all: Blocking out the street view, blocking out the speedometer, making dubious claims that the car wasn’t on a public street. Ultimately, the onus is on Autoguide.com (the owners of Toyota Nation) because legal actions have been successfully pursued against other businesses or online entities that allowed street racing videos to be shown that ultimately led to accidents, injuries, and deaths, or influenced viewers to perform the same high-speed driving that also resulted in accidents, injuries, and deaths.

For future reference, this thread serves as a notice, an expansion if you will, on TN’s forum rule regarding street racing and drifting:

13. No posting of threads/replies regarding or promoting street racing, drifting, burnouts, how fast you drove above the speed limit, or any other illegal or reckless behavior on public roads. Any post\thread in violation of this rule can and will be locked or deleted without notice. Any attempts to conceal that these activities occurred on public roadways will not be tolerated. For more information regarding this rule please click the following link to read the Expansion on the No Street Racing/Drifting Rule.

The only videos of high-speed driving that will be allowed are those clearly, unequivocally performed on a closed-circuit race course or drag strip. Any other videos displaying high-speed driving or drifting will not be tolerated, and the decision about whether a video violates rule #13 is up to TN’s staff members. What gives them the right to decide? These forum rules do:

4. Forum Administrators/Moderators reserve the right to determine what material is inappropriate and to modify/delete/move inappropriate forum postings without notice. Inappropriate postings include, but are not limited to, racist, profane, threatening, or pornographic material.

5. Forum Administrators/Moderators have the right to modify/ban/remove forum members' information/accounts without notice.

So please, help us out by following this guideline and posting only legal videos. The staff will certainly appreciate it. Thank you!
