I just purchased my rav4 hybrid on 9-13 and now have 99 miles on it. I purchased a 10 year 100k ext warranty with 0 ded if it goes back to selling dealer. It was 1600. I thought I could live with that until I got home and saw that it was thru Fidelity. Most ext warranty companies have bad reviews but this one gets the cigar. I can get a full refund within 30 days. What I really wanted was an actual ext warranty from Toyota and not a third party but I have had a hard time getting any info on an actual Toyota ext warranty. New on the fourm here so did not see how to search this forum, just the entire toyota community. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My experience with Toyota vehicles is that I would only want an Extended Warranty from the manufacturer and it needs to start at 125,000 miles and go to 250,000 miles. Below 125,000 miles I have never had a significant costly problem with a Toyota.

Be aware, there are "extended warrantys" being sold by dealerships that are not backed by Toyota. Many of those are dubious at best about covering repairs.

What you want is one backed by Toyota Corp.

Personally, I wouldn't get it. I buy Toyotas because they are so reliable. But I also do almost all of my own repairs. So that saves me a ton of $$.
