Any tips/advice on extending the travel of a stock 60/40 split bench driver's seat in a 1994 extended cab pickup.

drill and tap new holes for the seat mount?

It's not quite that simple...the front mounting bolts attatch horizontally to a raised "channel"...have a look down there and you'll see what I'm talking about! Thanks anyway.

You can't extend travel but if you want it to start farther back you could make some brackets that are about an inch long. Just a flat piece of metal about an 1/8 or 1/4 inch thick and put holes in it for the seat and the existing holes.

i realize that the seat mount is not horizontal, but if you're gonna move it, you're gonna have to flatten it out anyway, cause there's no other ribs on the floorboard to mount to

extending rearward or forward ?

you must be really tall if you want it to the rear. I'm 6'4" and don't actually use all the rearward travel.

I'm 6'2" but legroom isn't the issue, it's more of a Homer Simpson thing you might say...doh! Many thanks to everyone for their input.
