Extreme Aire High Output Compressor

Searched, but did not quite find the answer. I'm looking to purchase the Extreme Aire High Output compressor, however I'm trying to see if anyone has installed one under the hood. From the dimension provided, it appears that it won't fit under the hood. For reference, this will be going in on a 08 Double Cab TRD 4WD short bed. I won't be installing any tank.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if that one will fit, but consider this extremeaire jr

Yes, I was looking at the specs on that as well. 14x6x9 for the ExtremeAire vs 10.5x6.5x4 for the Jr. I'm hoping someone has installed either one under the hood and has some pics to share.

Thanks!
There are a couple guys here that have installed compressors under the hood. You'll have to search for pics though.

Personally, I think they take up too much valuable space in the engine compartment. It gets in the way if you need to work on your engine. I put my compressor inside one of the storage compartments in the bed. My CarDomain has some pics of it all.
^^ yeah, if you don't have VSC, that is where the ABS actuator is.

Yes, I did see your post and it looks great!! I won't be running a shell on my truck so I'm worried someone stealing it.
The way it's built, I doubt the Extreme Air will fit in there anyway.

BTW, you can make your stuff more secure by doing the Bed Storage Compartment Lock mod:

I have the same compressor as "tacogrande" if you're interested they sell for $49.95 at CostCo.:thumbup:

oh crap... another mod on the list! I had seen your install and more I think about this, it appears to be a good option. From what I can see on the pic, the only piece that gets modified is the plastic insert. I can't quite tell from the pic, it appears that it is bolted to the insert. Do you have a list of other parts needed for the install? As stated above, I won't be running a tank, but will be hardwiring it and a switch in cab. While I'm asking this, how about a wiring diagram for the install ;)

Thanks for your help!

Yes, thanks for the info. I had seen this but I'm looking for something more beefy. How long can you run it before it gets hot?

I believe about 20 minutes. (Can't remember exactly) I'll be installing air tanks where my spare tire is. So I'll always have a good supply of air.

I'm sure it can handle all 4 of my 285 tire if I need to air back up, after airing down.
Ah? Here you go!
Don't let the cheap price fool ya! This is a good compressor. Check it out! (Super flow MV-50)
