Factory Alarm System Inoperative
Just purchased a 2002 Celica with factory alarm system. I locked doors with remote which I believe is supposed to arm alarm at same time and got a confirmation chirp. To test alarm I manually opened door with key and alarm didn't sound. The starter was also not disabled as the car started when I tried it. When you use the panic button on alarm the horn goes off as should. What could be causing it to malfunction with regard to the doors and ignition? Any information on troubleshooting would be much appreciated.
