I have a 96 (Japan) Camry that needs an A/C line replaced to the dryer. I've found the line/part number that I need with the VIN# and the help of toyodiycom and ToyotaPartsbarn, but don't have a clue as how to determine whether the A/C was factory or dealer installed?:help:

The part# 88716-33110 brings up two choices...factory installed for $192 or dealer installed for $25.

Appreciate any help

Can the Toyota VIN be looked up by the Toyota dealer to determine this? Any way you can see the new part either at the Toyota parts counter or a photo (or diagram) and then compare it with what you have on the car? Is the Toyota dealer willing to order both parts and then let you see them and then pick the one that matches what you have and just pay for that one? Or, if you're ordering from ToyotaPartsBarn can you order both and then send the wrong one back for a refund?
