2005 Prerunner Double Cab Long Bed SR5 V6 5spd Auto, Silver

I've had my Tacoma since mid September and I'm just getting around to posting some pictures of it and the accessories I've added.

I posted a week or so back about a NAV unit I got and finally put it in this past weekend. Let me know what yall think. It's not completed yet. Have to make a few modifications to the inner trim ring to get it to fit, but you'll get the full effect in the pictures...

Hood Protector and probably the best accessory on the truck (plate):

GST Accessory Ventshades:

GST Accessory Chrome Running Boards:

Door Sill Protectors:

All Weather Mats (Filthy, I know..... ):

Pioneer Double Din NAV Unit (start-up screen):

NAV Unit map screen:

NAV Unit mounted in Scosche bezel kit:

Not pictured: GST alarm upgrade. Actually, if you look closely at the spare switchhole covers in the All Weather Mats picture, you can see the L.E.D./valet switch. It's offered thru GST. Costs a little over $100 less than the factory RS3200 system. EDIT: I forgot about the color keyed, molded door edge guards. You probably can't see them, but they're on there.

Our regional warehouse, G.S.T., offers these Enkei wheels in a 20". Thinking about getting these also. Any opinions? http://www.enkei.com/jpeg%20files/Wheels/DEEPSIX.jpg

Hope ya'll like it. Let me know what ya'll think.

Wow dude, your truck looks great. I see you've been busy modifying it. I really like that head unit with the navigation unit. About those wheels. I like them, are they chrome? or just polished?

GREAT JOB!!

They're polished, which I like best. It'll bling a little more than the stock drab gray aluminium, but not as crazy shiney as a chromed wheel.

Thanks for the kudos. I love my truck. I've liked the tacomas since the first day I saw one pull onto the lot on a transport truck. I work for Toyota of Slidell (Parts Dept) and I was the first sale our dealership made when we reopened after Hurricane Katrina almost wiped us off the map. I lost my 2004 F150 in 7ft of flood water as it sat in my garage while I was escaping the rising waters in my boat in the backyard. So, after all I've been through, I feel a little "gifting" to myself and my truck are in order.

How much do those door edge guards run? Are they the color keyed stickers? Pics? By the way your truck is sick
If I remember correctly, for the DCab they run about $100. Yeah, a little pricy, I know but think how much it will save u in the long run if you open your door into on of them posts at a gas station that protects the gas pumps from getting run over(I've done that before) and scrape the door right down the door edge. Not nice at all.

They are metal and painted to match according to Toyota's color codes. They are also preformed to match the curves of the Tacoma's doors. I do recommend a rubber mallet when putting them on. My palm is still hurting even though I put them on over a month ago. LMAO!!!

Thanks!

EDIT: I'll get some pics tomorrow and try to post them ASAP

Yea i have already dinged my door edge on the post, that is why I was going to buy those to cover it up, lol
Gimme a call, ask for Chris. 1-800-521-8101 (I think they got our 1800 number back up and running) or 985-726-7241. I'll gladly get some and ship them to you if you'd like(with a credit card order over the phone). And I just remembered. I sold a set of Indigo Blue guards today and they were only $45.00 for the DCab set. Sorry about the mix up.

These guards aren't Factory Toyota accessories. They're offered through our regional distributor, Gulf States Toyota. We honor the warranty like any other Genuine Toyota Part. 1 year/Unlimited Mileage.

thanks man, what kind of prices could you get me on some westin tube steps, chrome?
We used to use westin bars on the Tundras at our dealership, but after many comebacks with rust and other finish problems, we stopped carrying them.

If I'm not mistaken, the factory painted oval steps are either Steel Horse or Dee Zee. I'll check tomorrow(today.. LMAO!)

That's the first pic I've seen of a double din Scosche kit installed. It looks good. I thought there was a little "shelf" at the bottom of it... That the radio sat totally level. It looks like the radio sits almost flush with the dash kit. Did you modify it somehow to do that or did they already change the design of the kit?

The Scosche kit comes with it's own set of PLASTIC:confused: mounting brackets. instead of holes to mount the radio, there's two sets of "slots" in which you can adjust the angle of the radio or leave it flat. I didn't like the fact that I'd be mounting almost a 10 lb. radio unit in some failry flimsy plastic brackets. I used the factory brackets which set it at a good angle for me. I don't even have to use the "Angle" button on the display which would kick the bottom end of the face out. This is probably the reason why the inner trim ring doesn't fit, but that's not a problem when you have a dremmel and a steady hand ;) .

Also, there's not much room in the "hole" behind the radio. I don't think it would have had enough clearance to sit 'flat" in there and not on an angle. I may take it apart and look at it and see what may work better. We'll see.

I'm not complaining. When I saw the pics of the Scosche kit for the first time, I hated it because it had the little shelf. It looks much better in your pics than the ones Scosche released.

Chris,

What exactly is the GST alarm upgrade? Any special features or is it just an alarm? You mention it only costs a little over $100. If I remember, the factory alarm upgrade was about $450. Is it easy to install yourself? Thanks in advance for any info you can give.

The GST system basically adds just the alarm. Along with it comes a dual stage shock sensor and also horn "chirp" when arming and disarming. That's about it really. I'm not sure how hard it is to install. I paid one of our techs $80.00 to do it on the side. The labor manual calls for 2 hours of labor time. It lists for $159.00. Part number is 00012-A0520-01.

The factory RS3200+ system is $360.00. Part number 08586-04841.
