wow that is quite a drop in compression. Is 14psi the most you plan on running? Cuz you could have gotten away with 9.5:1 or 9:1 with jsut 14psi

Anywyas, the block an dhead look great. You had the block painted?

well yea.. maybe that was something i shouldve done but what happened was when the motor was at the machine shop i was ready to have them order me some Eagle H-beam rods but about a week later they told me there were no applications for the 5sfe. the said they can custom make them but it would cost almost $1000 and the wait would be about a month - month half. i needed the car up and running by a certain time or it wouldve gotten towed from the neighborhood.. guess it was a time issue not a cost issue. when i took the engine to the machine shop the guy took a look at the stock 5sfe rods and was actually impressed by how beefy they looked.. he said those would do fine and so did Burien Toyota when i had asked them.

i dont think i would have gone that low on my compression. even for 143's that just low. especially when you're only gonna hit 14 at the peak of your rpms, your down low is gonan suck for daily driving. for a suprcharger a little higher compression is good because you cant turn up the boost with a switch where that extra low compression is a nice safety. you wont make as much power as you could have if you had some higher compression. good though its great that you finally got your motor built. after doin all this work you might as well see if can run even higher. see if they can get a 20# kit together, you got the motor for it. let me know if you want to get any real head work done, the guy i'm gonna go to really knows his shit. you should prob get some cams for your car also.
