I finally got around to taking some pics of the radio install I did a few months ago in my 08 4x4 DC.

Here's what the finished product looks like. You probably can't tell from this picture, but the extra storage pocket is lined with black self stick felt. That does a nice job of protecting my sunglasses:

Here's a close up of the Sirius radio bracket. It was a breeze to install:

Here's a shot of the back of the Sirius radio bracket. It came complete with the swivelball and mounting plate:

Here's how I routed the wires for the hard wired Sirius Radio. They are wrapped in spiral wire loom. I'm not sure this will stay like this, but it works for now:

While I was installing the head unit, I also hard wired my radar detector. I filed a small notch in the top of the dash kit to get it into the dash:

Questions or comments, let me know.

Here's a link for the bracket I used for the Sirius radio if anyone is interested. I looked at many before deciding on this one. This bracket was the only one I found that came complete. With all of the others you had to purchase a swivel and mounting plate separately:

Looks nice! Do you have it connected to your iPod also?
Nice, I have my Sirius hard wired to the back of my stock head unit and my Cobra radar detector is hard wired too. LoL!
i'm not a fan of single dins, but it's definitely a clean install! now you have to change your interior gauge lights to blue... gotta match the stereo lights and the sirius background! haha
Nice........once you go Sirius, you never go back!
Love those headunits, I had the non-premier version (4900 as opposed to 490) in my 86xtra cab. Loved it, If I didn't get a smokin deal on my IDA-X100 I would have kept it, or upgraded to the premier.

Good work, looks clean

Yes, this HU came with a iPod cable hard wired. The iPod is in the glove box.
Looks good! Is that the Scosche Kit?
Yes. It fit like a glove.
I need to do that with my radar detector, I hate the damn wire hanging from the roof.

It's really easy. My radar detector is 12v, so all I had to do was cut the cig lighter plug off and strip the wires.

When you do this, be very delicate with the wires. The wires in my cord are very, very small gauge. Easy to break off.
looks good to me.
