when i got my truck, it didnt have the stock carb/air cleaner setup, so i dont know what they're like origionally, but when it started getting colder here, i had problems w/ my carb icing up, and found an air cleaner housing that would fit on the carb, and had a neck that extended over the header's a bit...so i tacked in a peice of pipe that extends down right above the header to gather the heat on start up, and the vacuum lines and all work on the warm up door thingy, so it warms up really nice....heres a few pics..

are the stock ones pretty much like this?
just wondering..i got the housing for like 2 bucks at a junkyard..off a ford..

The other thing you're missing is the heat shield around the exhaust manifold.

Hmm, I see that now. What you've got there now should suffice.
