We have found a 2020 Limited and are about to purchase it. Reading the review in Consumer Reports, they noted that the electronics had a below average dependability. Has anyone had any problems with this area or the information/entertainment systems?

I have a 2019 and I get a shrill high pitch screech through my radio speakers now and then. The dealer has no idea what it and it only happens intermittently. Someone on this site said it could be the amp.

Is this the statement your reading?

"In-Car Electronics
CD or DVD players, radio, speakers, GPS, communication system (e.g., OnStar), display screen freezes or goes blank, phone pairing (e.g. Bluetooth), voice control commands, steering wheel controls, portable music device interface (e.g., iPod/MP3 player), backup or other camera/sensors."

If so I would suggest that these are all user related, and that virtually none of these relate to the vehicle itself, but more likely the user's inability to use the very distinctive Toyota System as it's designed. Every manufacturer has their own idea about how the interface between the vehicle and the human should operate. It's my opinion that once you understand how the Toyota system works, it has been excellent.

2019 XSE hybrid. Purchased used in February, current mileage 50,000. I've had the high pitched screech from the sound system happen, once only. A couple of other odd little glitches include: High beam switch stopped working while driving at night, one time only, flash to pass still worked. After switching car off while dropping passengers and then restarting it worked fine, hasn't happened again. Switched wipers from intermittent to full on (standard speed) but they stayed on intermittent. Switched off and back on twice before they worked properly, and hasn't happened again. Otherwise I love the car and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone shopping for a large, comfy, hybrid sedan.

When I had the 2019 Touring, I got that no RCD alert message every time I put the car in reverse, this was an easy fix. Didn't have an issue with the head unit other than being slow to load and switching screens. If you're just asking about issues regarding the infotainment/screen, thats all I've encountered.

I asked the same question not long time ago and multiple owners with 50k miles 60k miles didn't report any problems. Mine is a 2022 with 20k miles and no problem so far. The car maybe trouble free until it passes 100k miles but it's rare to find owners with more than 100k miles. It has the same car unit with the Camry so you may find more answers asking Camry owners, i wouldn't worry, there are not many Avalon owners anyways so consumers report won't be accurate

Just for grins, I walked through the local Costco, where they sell quite a few of the top rated tires, and they have literally hundreds of tires already purchased, stacked and waiting for installation appointments, and it is telling how many of them are the CC2's. Unless they get noisy and or rough after just a short amount of mileage, this is probably my replacement tire as well. Still have 6/32nds on my original Bridgestone tires at ~22,000 miles.

I'll snap a picture of the tire piles next time I'm at the store. :D

Purchased mine at COSTCO best price when on sale. Tires have 8000 miles on them not 4000(mistake). They make you feel like you are stuck to the road very confidence inspiring (rain or snow). Handle great, noise has diminished over time (road surface does play a part as with any tire)). My take and I would buy again.
