Hi. I have a dead fob for my 98 corolla & my immobiliser is stuck on.. can anyone help? I went to the dealerships in which the gent said the fob has had it & will need to be replaced. However new fob from dealership is discontinued & I couldn't code a new one in without the old fob. The only help they offered was to refer me to an auto elect to install a new "mongoose" immobiliser.. Frankly the car dosent represent the quote & I just want my immobiliser off so it's drivable. Any help or advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Don't know about the Corolla specifically, but the immobilizer can be disabled on Camrys of the same vintage pretty easily with a little electronics knowledge. I would suggest finding the part number of your ECU and searching for "<part number> immobilizer eeprom reset". You may find someone who is capable of doing it if the process seems too daunting.

Very strange at the fact that they can't obtain a replacement fob, even without the old one.
Anyway, try this: Switch everything else off and leave the ignition on for around 30 minutes. That should disconnect the immobiliser.

Haven't a clue but I can find out.. if by 8th gen you mean it's a 1998 corolla conquest then yes. However I am not from USA. I am in Australia

Thank you TWO-VEE-ZED I will give this ago. Just hope my battery is still fine as the car has been sitting for some time now. Will let you know if this works. Thanks for your input
