But do you lose fogs when you turn your headlights on??
whoa... wicked confused... could you explain but in english this time??? :D

Thanks
Excellent write-up, very detailed. But.....I like the option of turning them on/off.
Now I know why I never got into electronics.

So does this system use 2 switches? The OEM switch as well as an added switch to keep the fogs always on?
So if I'm reading this correctly, it seems like it's pretty much identical to the way PB has his done, except you're tapping into the #3 leg on the headlight relay for power instead of the 10A fuse.

If you're not using a second switch you'd still have to run a fused wire between the fog and the HL relay no?
I am impressed with your knowledge of our electrical system. May I make a suggestion? Why not run a jumper from the parking light of the driver's side into the fuse/relay area, then bend the tab for powering the relay out at a 90 degree angle and put the jumper on that tab. Voila, you accomplish the same thing, only running a minimum of wire and nothing needs to be run into the cab. I did, been running this way for better than two years with no problems.
i did the same mod only i just ran a 16-18 gauge wire from the bent post of the fog light relay and tapped/spliced it into the sold green wire on the other end of the fuse box. very simple to do. no issues with lights. brights, low beam, day time running, fog lights stay on at my leisure. no second switches or anything. just use the foglight button.

Did you fuse that wire? Also, do your lights come on 4hrs after you shut off the engine?

I just used your basic wire connectors. just a simple splicer. i shaved a little bit of the green cover off to expose the wire to gaurantee a connection.
Haven't had any issues with the lights comming back on after i shut the engine.
which is this the duplicate to? the other threads dont have any pics or theyre broken links
