Okay I read all over the internets...

Oh you have a 2005 Corolla with no fog lights!

Just buy the factory switch and relay! Well I did that.

It looks like the CE does NOT have the wiring... The LE does..

Now I have to put the relay and switch(turn signal stalk) on ebay...

uhg poor planning... anyone want these things?

I read this thread... CE'S DO NOT HAVE THE WIRING!!!! LE'S DO!

Yes they do have wiring. It's tucked inside the bumper and taped the the metal bumper support.

It's hard to see when you don't know what you are looking for.

Every CE I have ever seen is prewired (at least 2005 and up). Mine was a pretty much base (convenience package which means only power locks and cruise) and was also prewired.

Do not give up.

Make sure you are trying for the correct relay. The relay should be at the bottom of tr fuse box on the left I believe.

I will try and take a pic tomorrow.

My fog lights in my '06 corolla were retrofitted on and when I looked on the fuse box where the fog lights fuse would be, I see 2 wires wound together and shoved into the hole. Not soldered or anything. They were just held on with a piece of tape. At least there is a fuse stuck somewhere down the line.

When I try to turn them on, I get a clicking sound from the relay and they don't turn on anymore. New relay, still doesn't work.

This is the same car with hubcaps that were held on with cable ties. :headbang:

Where on the bumper are the fog lamp connectors located, do you have a picture of the location? I have checked the fuse box in the engine compartment, and it appears to have the wiring for the relay and fuse, just can not locate the fog lamp connectors near the front of the car on the bumper.

Buried under the bumper. Taped or Ziptied to the bumper support. They are hard to find.

I had a pair of aftermarket fog lights on my car and just wasn't happy with them. So I started at this site reading I think all threads that dealt with fog lights. When I read that from 2006 on most Corollas came prewired for fog lights I started looking for the lights that fit the in the bumper. I looked online and found these:
http://www.k2motor.com/lfcor05oem.html
I got them for $56 shipped after a 5% off coupon. Received them in about 5 days. So this mourning I decided to install them. I took off the front bumper to look for the wires. No luck, could not find any for fog lights. Then I looked where the relay would go, if you look at the pic hardtopte72 posted you will see a metal tab(for lack of knowledge of what it is called). Mine did not have this nor any wires to that location(bummer). The only thing to do is use the wiring harness that came with the lights. I will say this that taking the bumper off made it easier to install the lights and the wiring. Then I mounted the relay and connected the wires for that. It was a real b#&%@ to get the wire from the relay to the switch because the hole in the firewall you could put the wire through I already have the power wire for the amps that is atleast 4 guage. Finally to work on the switch. I connected the relay wire, gound, then switched power. All buttoned up time has come. Started car, swich lit up, so far so good, hit the switch and there was light. I am proud of myself for the job I did. I think it came out pretty good, but I might be a little bias. I do know I am getting older because I am feeling sore now. Whats next, maybe Altezza tail lights and grill. Sorry for not taking any pics I did not even think about it.

Congratz on the install. I eventually ended up using the wiring harness that came with my lights. On a side note, took my corolla to the dealer for free oil change (mailer, if I test drove a 2012/13 car, I got a free oil change). I was talking to one of the senior mechanics there. He noticed that I had fog lights and comment on my wiring job (he was impressed with how neat it was). I asked about the prewiring of the Corollas for fog lamps. He told me it was pretty much hit or miss. Most of the Japan built ones came with the harnesses, but the Cali ones, about 1/3 of them did not get the harnesses early in the production run. Which makes sense since my was an early production one for '06. He then took me over to another 9th gen corolla (must of been 9th gen day), and withing secs locate the wire harness on it for the fog lights.
