very nice man. I am glad you did a step by step DIY for us, my lights from CaseMod will be here in about 3 days.

Looks like I have somethin' to do this weekend.

Thanks buddy.

i ordered my lights from casemods.com. I installed them.

The driver side bulb works really really well, the passenger side, not so much.

The passenger side light only lights up half way. So I cut the wires and changed out the bulbs (since I ordered two pair), and still only half of the bulb works.

Any suggestions?? :disappoin

EDIT: Your DIY was a breeze. Thx.

I don't think anyone here soldered them into the console lights.

The power can come from pretty much only three places.

1. The dome light above, then wired all the way down to your foot well.

2. The power supply that is in the pic in the actual footwell DIY.

3. Another junction box located next to the driver's side air vent behind the dash, similar to the one that is pictured in the foot well DIY.

You don't even need to solder them either. You can use butt connectors as well, that way you can disconnect them like you wish. Just dont let the pos and neg wires touch together to create a spark.

Your fuse will blow.................trust me.

you can also use the same wire cluster to power your foot well lights just like in the 'Lighted Door Sill' DIY......that would bypass the whole headache of having to use the dome light.

It too will fade out like the dome.

^ did you ever finish rewiring your system?
Nope. I am working on a new "custom" setup - trying to go for the "car show" theme in the trunk. I am also waiting on a few other things to show up in the mail, so with that, and work, it may take a month or so.

For the lighting in the footwells', the cathodes are nice, slim, bright, and you can land a pair in your palms for about 6 bucks. I usually get mine off ebay and /i order 2 at a time. Cathodes are great.

First, those fuses are like 2 for 5 bucks at the dealer. (i have blown my fair share of those little red bastards) So its really not a big deal if you blow that particular one.

2nd, I dont know why everyone is trying to wire these thru the actual dome light itself. That is a way harder process....

Look up the DIY link for the Lighted Door sill wiring....it is the exact same thing. If you follow that, you dont have to worry about overhead lining and running a rediculous amount of wires and it achieves the same success.

Psyth: Yes, that is why your fuse blew, your wires touched together. I have done it before too so dont feel retarded. When messing with those wires or any wires for that matter, never let the two wires touch. You will blow a fuse everytime.

I would stick with cathode. I tried LED strip once, and cathode is def brighter and more pleasing. Tons of people see mine and I get the same reaction, "Whoa dude, that's bad ass...you do that yourself?"

"Hell yes I did".

yeah...just splice from front to rear. run your wire for the rear under the door sills all the way to the back and then mount the lights wherever you want.
