^ yes you are correct there is a easier method, such as taping into the fuse to leave the lights on when the key is in or tap it into the courtesy lights but that will only turn them on when the door is opened. I used the domelight because when you unlock your car the lights will turn on and when and you lock it than it will turn off. pretty much teh same concept as puddle lights.

do you think the wiring will interfere with the side airbags?? I noticed in your pic right above step # 7, there is a white "thing" in the crack. is that the airbag?
Sorry i was at school today. I know what you mean about the air bag but i stuck the wire behind the white thing so it would not interfere. Also you COULD the wire towards the middle and down the side middle pillar, but this could be more work. This was teh way Netforcer wired it in his car and this would probably be the easiest way if you DO NOT have a sunroof

awesome writeup dude! although im not sure i could use the dome light in your location since i have the gen 5.5 which has the domelight in the middle of the roof and 2 reading lights where the moonroof controls are.. im assuming it would be the same wiring though.
yeah pretty much, you could run it down your side pillar.

Nice write up. Would you mind taking a picture of the actual lights so we can get an idea of how you mounted them? Also where did you place the inverter and did you only use one cold cathode on each side? Thanks
Will do, should have pics by tomorow ? anyways yes i used one cathode per side, the lenth from the cathode it self to the inverter is only about 6 inches so that was a problem but i figured it out, i just placed the inverter behind the cubby hole so the inverter is between both cathodes. Also i used the provided double sided tape at first but no dice, it kept falling so i went to the local hard ware store and bought some Velcro. Sticks alot better.

how did you wire the LED light near your AUX hook up? a DIY on that would be amazing.
sorry for the late response but i just got some ricer LED from wal mart for 5 bucks. I have an amp hooked up to my car and i taped into the fuse box as my remote for my amp so it turns on when the key is in ACC or ON. I just tapped into that same fuse i tapped into for my amp so the light is on 24/7 when the key is in. unless i take it out. I think its a nice feature but its kind of odd that the 2 blues dont match up but meh what can you do.

Camryguru did a nice write up which is much beter than mine. I just took the led and just wired it to the fuse and i put some double sided tape to hold up the LED. There is a wire that is hanging out so its not that clean thats why i havent made a write up :p

^ hey can i see a pic of your wires and the ones you cut off? it could be different than mine. I am pretty sure i used the BLACK and RED wire. The red wire was connected to the yellow one through a switch though

i have a le with no sunroof and just tried to do this mod but the center light on my map lights is not wired. tried to tap into the dome light in the center of the headliner because i want the oem fade when the lights go out, but i coulnt figure it out.

has anyone tried this on a new camry with no sunroof?
are you sure its not wired? if not than does it turn on? becuase it has to be wired to work. A member here my the name of "Netforcer" did this mod and he DOES NOT have a sun roof so it should work.

Hey CamrySExxx, how would I go about tapping into the fuse because I want accent lights in the footwells on whenever the key is in the ignition? Could you tell me where the fuse box is and what kind of equipment I might need to be able to tap into it? Thanks.
Hey sorry i took a while to reply. But if you still want to know give me a pm to remind me. Right now im off at school so i should be going home for thanksgiving next week so i can check then.

All this is new to me but I want to make this happen!!

How is the 16 GA wire holding up for the people not using a fuse? R

eally confused on the wiring of the fuse but I will try my best.

My question is how many CCFL's can i put on just one 16 GA speaker wire? I want to install around 4. Driver, passenger, 1 under driver sear and 1 under passenger seat. Is this possible?

Great post!!
The 16ga wire is fine for me. and im sorry but im not exactly sure. You probably could but you should amp it to be safe like others suggested.

hey camrysexxx i was wondering when you ran the wire acrossed the headliner, did you do it for both (driver and passenger) sides? Does the positive and negatives simply plugged right into the ccfl's? thank you for your help
No, i just had one going down the driver side. And for your second question yes.

Just to let you know, 1 set has 2 lights therefore me running 1 wire down the driver side i just had a light in each foot well
