do you think the wiring will interfere with the side airbags?? I noticed in your pic right above step # 7, there is a white "thing" in the crack. is that the airbag?
Sorry i was at school today. I know what you mean about the air bag but i stuck the wire behind the white thing so it would not interfere. Also you COULD the wire towards the middle and down the side middle pillar, but this could be more work. This was teh way Netforcer wired it in his car and this would probably be the easiest way if you DO NOT have a sunroof

awesome writeup dude! although im not sure i could use the dome light in your location since i have the gen 5.5 which has the domelight in the middle of the roof and 2 reading lights where the moonroof controls are.. im assuming it would be the same wiring though.
yeah pretty much, you could run it down your side pillar.

Nice write up. Would you mind taking a picture of the actual lights so we can get an idea of how you mounted them? Also where did you place the inverter and did you only use one cold cathode on each side? Thanks

Will do, should have pics by tomorow ? anyways yes i used one cathode per side, the lenth from the cathode it self to the inverter is only about 6 inches so that was a problem but i figured it out, i just placed the inverter behind the cubby hole so the inverter is between both cathodes. Also i used the provided double sided tape at first but no dice, it kept falling so i went to the local hard ware store and bought some Velcro. Sticks alot better.

yeahh.. i would also like to know how.

i have a few questions. so for us, who do have moonroofs and like to also add footwells to the passengers in the back? would it be possible to repeat the same steps but using the dome light in the back instead? or something different? and can you give more details for people who would like to do create a switch to turn on/off the lights. thanks.

very nice write up, think i need to start working on my car more lol

if i wanted to wire up a switch to the footwell lighting as well as run it to the dome light i'd have to run a constant supply in parallel to the dome light power, just add the switch to the constant supply to activate on/off the footwells? Is there an easier way to do this? I'm just thinking if I'm in my car and I want to look for something on the floor, I can flip a switch and the footwells will come on but not the domelight and at the same time they'll activate when the dome is lit.

sorry for the late response but i just got some ricer LED from wal mart for 5 bucks. I have an amp hooked up to my car and i taped into the fuse box as my remote for my amp so it turns on when the key is in ACC or ON. I just tapped into that same fuse i tapped into for my amp so the light is on 24/7 when the key is in. unless i take it out. I think its a nice feature but its kind of odd that the 2 blues dont match up but meh what can you do.

Camryguru did a nice write up which is much beter than mine. I just took the led and just wired it to the fuse and i put some double sided tape to hold up the LED. There is a wire that is hanging out so its not that clean thats why i havent made a write up :p

hey CamrySExxx, when you recieved your cathodes was the kit put together to be installed in a computer? i got a kit from xoxide.com and it was a computer kit so i thought that the yellow wire would have been 12v and the black should have been ground. is this correct? because my kits not working and im not sure why, i have to take my volt meter home from work tonight so i can see whats wrong, but it looks like my kit is f*cked and just doesnt work period because i also hooked it to my computers power supply and it still didnt work. so xoxide.com is not recommended to buy cathodes. and now the wires are cut so i cant return it. i went ahead and ordered some from case-mods.com today.

^ hey can i see a pic of your wires and the ones you cut off? it could be different than mine. I am pretty sure i used the BLACK and RED wire. The red wire was connected to the yellow one through a switch though

yeah, same here. the yellow wire comes from the molex connector to the switch then turns into a red wire. i even tried yesterday removing the switch and just connecting the red and yellow together. still no luck. i have my meter now so i can do more research today. oh, the brand of the lights are LOGISYS.

i used the yellow and black wire that are separated on the bottom of the pic.

so yesterday i recieved my lights in the mail. i also requested an inverter for the other lights i had already. the new lights work, but the old, blue lights, i originally had, still dont work. i hooked the new inverter to them and it blew that one too. i tried hooking the inverter to the new lights, that i knew worked, and nothing. so now i know the real reason. those blue lights were [email protected]#ked. blew two inverters. the two new lights i have are white, and the others are the blue/green. i wanted white, and blue. but they said white was sold out so i said replace the white for the blue/green ones. what i recieved were the white, and blue/green. so what i got was not what i ordered, but i did get the extra inverter with wiring/switch free of charge.

i ordered my lights from casemods.com. I installed them.

The driver side bulb works really really well, the passenger side, not so much.

The passenger side light only lights up half way. So I cut the wires and changed out the bulbs (since I ordered two pair), and still only half of the bulb works.

Any suggestions?? :disappoin

EDIT: Your DIY was a breeze. Thx.
