Dont think this topic has been covered (looked) but I am going to order a set of 8000K HIDS but I also have my four KC lights up front. What I was wondering was if I have my KC's on with my blue HIDS will it be hard looking out with the two lights "clashing" I know its kind of stupid but was just wondering if it will be hard on the eyes? Anyone have experience with this?

Is this really a serious question??

If you're really worried about how it will look, which I'm sure you do because you're getting 8,000K, then don't run with both of them on. Many of us run HIDs in the headlights and either stock fogs or yellow fogs like myself and there is no problem with them "clashing." Why are you going with 8,000K? They put out less light than 5,000 or 6,000K and just look like aftermarket blue lights to me. I would stick with 5,000K or 6,000K.

I have 4300k HID's, yellow 80w fogs, and 4 hella 500ff's. Since the hella's are 55w a piece, they kinda wash out in the HID's as do the fogs. However, knowing that most KC's are 100w+ only difference you will notice is that the light from the KC's will be dimmer than your HID's.

I too would run in the 4-5k range, most light out put and no ricey color

says the guy who has strobes?
jk with you man
i have 8000k's and they look like 6000k's to me. plenty of light output. adjusted them so i am not blinding people. between adjusting the headlights (3" lift)and my t rex eye lids, i rarely get flashed. seems like my yellow fog lights "wash" out the color a little bit.

I did plan on getting yellow fogs..but if it does wash the color out alittle no big deal..and its not like i use my KC a whole lot

what is the size for the headlights/fogs?
Headlights are H4
Fogs are H10/9005

h4-3's?
I just did a piaa 580 hid conversion, i got the regular h3 bulb and wasn't able to clear the back side due to the lengh of the back of the bulb. best bet for the best stock look is h3-c bulb. it looks exactly like the oem h3 bulbs. I have 4300k hid piaa 580 fogs now, and they are bright.
well, if you really care about seeing...you'll get a 4300 kit, as this produces the most lumens....all that 6000 adn 8000 crap is for show, as you get about 2/3 the lumens as a 4300 kit.

my guess is that your four KC lights will put out more light than your cool new 8000 that will not even be able to tell you have the 8000 lights on....but i could be wrong....
My buddy has 6000k and they look purple ..will the 8000 k be more blue because I don't want purple lights just a nice, not to bright blue. Is 8000 k what looking for?
8,000K will be more of a turquoise blue than the 6,000K. I have 6,000K and they are very white with a slight violet tint to them. You will see different colors for each brand that says they are 6,000K. One might have a 6,000K that looks more blue and another might look like mine. I like the look of mine, the look really close to what an OEM HID looks like, just a little bit more of a bluish violet tint to them. Here's a pic of them:

Here in miami if you have blue headlights, you get a ticket. On my wifes 08 4runner i did 6k hid's on the headlights, just a hint of blue with good light output. On my bother inlaws tundra I did 6k on headlights, 3k yellow on foglights and they look great no problem with colors. Next up is my truck, im going to go with 6k headlights and 3k yellow fog lights.
BTW i also did a 745i 5k HID foglights and the are very bright!!!
I do wanna get the 8000k but after reading online I'm scared I'll get pulled over and ticketed. Are they going to be super bright and have the bad glare blinding people? Should I just do 6000's?

well if thats the case, go retrofit or go home..if you do ignore my advice, stick w/ a 4300 kit, it will give the best light, and thats the whole purpose of HIDs right...otherwise, PIAA bulbs do the job just fine...IMO
I searched for pics but most were in the 4000-6000k range..anyone have pics of 6000 or 8000..still torn ha
Just to make sure, you know that the 8000k or what ever number is just a color temperature, not a brightness.

If I were you, and if you were worried about getting a ticket for color and don't want 4-5k's, get the 6000k's
