okay so I've been doing some reading on the atlantic engine....so its got 240 HP right...is that naturally aspirated? I think it is...I never see turbos or SC mentioned.

and can you buy them? how much would they be, where would you get them?
I saw on ToySport that they give you a list of all these parts that are availible through them from TRD....that are apparently in the atlantic engine.....http://www.toysport.com/New Products/Atlantic.htm

so am I right in thinking that If I buy all these parts install them on my engine that I'll get 240 hp.....it dosnt seem right so Im gonna say no.

let me know what you guys think.

Hey guys..your impute is grealy appreciated.....Obviously having this engine is not for just cruising around in....I just wanted to know more about it.....if anyone has actually had opportunity to drive a car with such an engine...or what they thought of the engine....yeah It would be cool to own one...but the only way it would make sence to have that engine...is to build an all out race car and not have it for your daily driver.......having an engine like that and thinking that your car could be a daily driver is silly.

Allthought it is interesting to learn about that parts list....agian it would be silly to think that its a weekend job to build a formula engine......If one were to want this engine...he should just buy it...and if you have the money or the resourses to buy the engine...then i think it would be safe to think that one has the money or resourses to fix the engine....hmm.
its just cool I think that you can so much power outta such a small engine......I think though If one were to spend the money on the engine...you may as well go all out and just buy an open wheeled race car with the engine......ohh thats a sweet thought!!

I think my friend was mentioning to me the other day you can get a mazda opened wheel race car for about 60 000 bucks!! rotarys are cool!!
Okay Im confussed.....are you saying that you do NOT have to rebuild the engine alot....or you DO have to quite often.....

10K huh....thats not bad....maybe I'll have to think about that....I have an 89 corolla 4wd wagon that I might have to insure and make my daily driver again.....hmmm... ahh pipe dreams.....
So you say your friend has one....did he mount it into a corolla....He races I would assume....whats it like...sound? would there be any way you could get him to post a sound clip somewhere?
First of all.....no I agree this type of engine would probaly not be a good city car....and if it were you would have to be crazy to red line it all day long....still would be very fun to have a car with this engine...
Flashman what do you mean by "TBI".
Im sure you could get more power outta the atlantic engine..but you would have to go turbo.....but that kinda defeats the whole purpose of formula engines.
AND yeah I would love to hear what one sounds like...I cant seem to find a movie clip anywhere.....ahh well.....
im gonna have to go with pineapple on the whole horsepower thing...I mean If toyota can only get 240...I cant imagine a weekend garage mechanic can do it...I mean most of the guys who work on these engines have some sort of degree that mere mortals like us could only dream of........
Im gonna have to do more reasearcch on throttle body injectors......not really sure what it does...but cool though keep the info coming!! later dudes!! :D
