Found a nice alternative to Tacoma

Was at the Detroit auto show and saw the new Tundra. Didn't really like the big ones, but this standard cab was very nice. Was curious how it compared to the Tacoma ext. cab I want, and it is only 2" longer in this config. But 6" wider.

I am anxious to price one out with a 4x4 and the big engine to see how much $$$$$ is costs.

Thought you might enjoy seeing a cool Tundra since all the pics I have seen are of the super long ones. Sorry for the large size, just copied raw camera pics to web. Wish the side one wasn't so blurry.

The doors are huge! at least 5' long and there is a ton of room behind the seats.
Enjoy,
Michael

I like that truck.
That's the standard cab short-bed with Sport Package and 5.7L v8.

Toyota has prices on their website now: http://toyota.com/Tundra/models.html (you can't build and add options yet, but you can see MSRP's for the different size models). They have the regular cab (4x2) with 5.7L v8 listed as $24,380....that is without the Sport Package though. I would be willing to bet that truck (4x2) will have a MSRP around $25,750 - $26,500.

It's this picture

The Dis-proportion of the truck of the truck reminds me of the T-100. (The windows and the roof looks too small for the huge body:dunno: )
I know the Access cab looks the same.
I'm wanting to see the Dbl. Cab in person? The pictures on the website looks good?

Not this year, I remember reading (I believe in Motor Trend) that Fall of 2007 (basically the 2008 model) is when the crewmax longbed will be available.

I think it'd be the equivalent of an F350 crew cab long bed.... which is still gigantic. Gotta triple park everywhere :lol:

LOL Mad monkey lovin   I agree :D

Tacomas still have the Champ cup imo.

I have come from a full size 94 Silverado. With the MPG, the power is comprable and more fun considering the improved MPG in the Tacoma I cant see why I personally would need the Tundra

i like the long look. plus you can fit more shit.
 Wow I love it, it’s an oversize taco. Man I'd consider, but I know it won’t be available here because Toyota doesn’t seem to market reg cab stuff here too much, or last least not a reg cab with short box. I bought my truck used from a dealer here who brought it in from the USA. :) My truck is not available in Ontario unless someone brings them in from USA. I am constantly getting questions about my truck... the one time I came out of Canadian Tire, and there was a group of 4 guys checking it out.:whatwhat:

LOL

Yeah, that CrewMax is a huge cab. It's about the size of the Ram Megacab.

I'd love to have a 4x4 CrewMax Limited in black.
