Hey all! My First Post!

My friend gave me a 1995 Tacoma SR5 V6 4X4. Just called me up and said it's yours!

I just fired it up and drove it out of a snowbank after sitting at -40 C for 4 months. Surprised the hell outa me. Engine felt strong and gearing felt really torquey. The rubber is not great, body has some dents I'll have to plunger out.

4X4 is working and I want to maybe do some wheelin with it. Not sure if I want to mod it a lot ($$$).

Looking for some low cost mod suggestions and where to get them, that I can do myself. (bought a Haynes Manual) Tires etc.....

I'd also like some suggestions as to what I should be changing out now in way of a tune-up (best wires, plugs etc....). I'm in canada!

Anyway any help is welcome.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Nation! You lucky guy you! Anyhoo, I'd change out all the fluids like the tranny, differential, oil, transfer case, coolant ect. Depending on what kind of mileage it has the timing belt should have been changed out at 90K miles (not sure how many KMs that would be). As for plugs, stay with Denso or NGK as well as OEM wires.

well, according to toyota canada, you get your 15yr extended warranty. and they refund the 1.5x black book value or MSRP when the truck was bought...

but I could be wrong??

Thanks, but???

Thanx guys!

I'll have to inspect it myself, as the nearest dealer is between 7-12 hour drive away.

We don't use a lot of salt up here so I might be ok. From what i've read its a salt related issue.

I'm more interested in keeping the truck and using it as a toy/bush truck.

No inspections here either.

What size tires can I upgrade to without any lifts?

F*** one beer, you better buy that friend a KEG lol what i would suggest is to get a lift if your kind of hand, a 3" will do and they are cheap if you can put them on yourself, that way you can have 33" tires,

OH and welcome friend

good friends

I take very good care of my friends thats why he gave me the truck.

He also gave me a car at the same time.

I'm going to sell the car for 1 -1.5k what ican get for it and we're gonna go to the casino and gamble the money. He's a good gambler, so I may get enough out of this to fix the truck up real good.

I saved his house from freezing up so he said take the car and truck.

It froze up a few years ago and cost him like 15k to fix it all.

Still he is a great friend to give me his truck.

Blew me away that he did it.
