..the guys at Autozone and Advanced Auto didn't get any codes because the check engine light wasn't on. The car drives fine but the light is still on and my friend is worried. I'm thinking it could be a faulty/old sensor but my guess is as good as any honeslty. Does anyone have any experience in this or have an idea of what it could be?
EDIT: check engine light was on but there were no codes for some reason.
My apologies! The check engine light was on! But for whatever reason nobody can pull any codes. Does the engine actually need to be running since it's a hybrid model or could it possibly be a bad sensor somewhere?
All lights should be on in instrument cluster for scanner to scan. Engine does not need to run.
If regular scanner can not pull code, there is problem with OBD2 port, scanner, or code is not readable by regular scanner and requires advanced device to do so.
