Im in the city alot (Chicago) and the meter ppl sure love to hand out tickets... Ive Gotten two no front plate tickets in the last month. The first one i had no plate, and after that i figured i could put my plate in the window and that would be just fine... Guess not.

Im looking for the plate mount/bracket that u can mount under the bumper, and manually pull it out, or have it completely tucked under the bumper without being able to notice. I dont need a motorized one, just one that is hidden when i want it, and i can pull it out when i park in the city. Anyone?????

its possible, just need to make a sliding bracket with an L rail. It's very doable, but now you have to figure out where to mount it, and how to attach the wheels onto the slider and such.

I can't understand why people want to purposely break the law. Good law or bad, it's still the law. If it's OK to break this one, is it OK to take a short cut up a one way street or do a U turn in mid block? Where do you draw the line? Where ever it's convenient for you? If the law says put a plate on the front of the car, then put a plate on the front of the car.

Perfect... thats what im looking for.

I think having no front plate on the car looks so much better. And im not drilling holes in my bumper. If it doesnt hurt anyone, it doesnt bother me.

The relocator is a possiblitiy. Looks better than a normal one but id still like the option of hiding it all together

If you don't want holes in the bumper, make a neodymium sandwich. Epoxy a neodymium magnet to the back side of the bumper cover and epoxy or screw another one to the back of the license plate. That should keep it on with no holes drilled through the cover, but you'll need to carve a small recess in the styrofoam bumper pad to make room. You may want to use a thin felt or rubber cover over the magnet on the plate, though, and keep a good coat of wax on the bumper to prevent scratches. If you want to permanently mount the plate without screws, just use velcro. Goof-off should remove the adhesive when you're done.

I live in Virginia and technically it is illegal to put anything on our vehicles that was not installed by the Toyota factory during production. So technically I broke the law with all the vehicles that I have owned and am breaking the law with all the vehicles I currently own. What are your thoughts on this?

I actually have the electric version of this on my Sentra. I didn't want to drill holes in the front of my bodykit, but still wanted to be legal, so I used this. I usually only put my plate down when I'm autocrossing.

TRD-98TT is right about VA. Technically in VA you can't even install an aftermarket head unit if you want to. If you're car didn't come with a radio then you're not supposed to add one, but that's a law that's usually overlooked because so many people change their head units.

The VA law depends on who you have for an attorney and judge. The purpose/spirit of the law is to not mess with the environmental/emissions parts of the car as well as the exhaust (putting on loud mufflers/pipes). A good lawyer can argue either side of a case and a judge can decide either way depending on his/her personal beliefs.

Damn VA sounds like a pain. Here in Florida we don't need front bumper plates. I find it funny. Every time i watch a episode of Dexter, they put front plates on all their cars.
